Of course, they were in my garage as I drove in a torrential downpour (it was almost like a hurricane. Almost.) and used my three-year-old, stock wipers. Oops. Lesson learned the hard way. When I got back home, the first thing I did was install new wiper blades. Turns out you don’t need a special tool. You just pop ‘em off and pop ‘em on! There are a couple different types of arms out there: J-Hook arms (I have these), Pin arms, and Bayonet arms. J-Hook arms are easy because you simply hold down the end of the clasp underneath the blade and slide the blade down toward the car and it becomes unhooked.

 Liege Motor Company WIPER MOTOR AND DRIVE Modification and Installation The wiper motor and drive used in the Liege is the Lucas two speed with park type as used on earlier British cars. If attainable the assembly used on the Austin Allegro has all the correct parts, i. e. the 130 degree drive wheel and the correct wheel boxes for optimum wiper sweep on the windscreen. The Reliant Kitten wiper drive assembly may look the same, but it will not fit as the spindles are shorter. The drive spindles (which push up through pre-marked holes in the bodywork in front of the windscreen) should measure 2. 9/16 inches from the base to the end of the spline. The two rubber spacers, which together measure 1.5/8 inches long, hold the drive spindles at an angle. 1. Remove the gearbox cover from the wiper motor and check that the gear is stamped ‘130 degrees’. If it isn’t correct, it will need to be replaced. 2. To facilitate the correct wiper parking position on the drivers side of the windscreen, it is necessary to move round the nylon parking hump on the upper face of the gear so that it is on the same side as the drive pin on the underside.
